Jazeera beach attracts visitors with its serenity and opportunity to soak up the stunning views of the horizon. Although very popular site, it is never too crowded, so you can always find a quiet spot for yourself to bask in the sun, read a favorite book, have a cold, refreshing drink or simply enjoy the view.
The crystal clear, turquoise water provides ideal conditions for swimming and snorkeling.

Jazeera beach is located around 13km south of Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia. It is very popular beach destination for locals who enjoy relaxing at this beach every day. However, in recent years Jazeera beach in Mogadishu has seen a certain number of international tourists as well. The visitors from abroad mostly come from Turkey, United States of America, UK, Italy, Germany and Malaysia.
Jazeera beach is a beautiful place to take photos. And the weather is the best part. You can sunbathe and swim, and enjoy the leisure time on a warm, white sand. You’ll also see valleys on the way. When you get warm under the sun, leap in the ocean. The water is clean, transparent and fresh.
Mogadishu and Jazeera Beach
Mogadishu is truly a vibrant, hopeful and beautiful capital city and you can see a lot of improvements in the city for the first time in last two decades. Now it’s recovering its previous ruins and a lot of new buildings and construction sites can be seen across the city.
On Fridays, the Jazeera beach is little different from Lido beach because is locates slightly far from the capital. So you need some way of transportation to get there. Sometimes you can see the people with luxury cars that come to Jazeera beach to relax after the busy week. At the beech you feel free because it runs 1.5 km long, so you can swim either private or public.
The regular visitors of Jazeera beach include rich Somali people that come with their friends and families. Some of the government leaders are the regular customers to come, so the security on a beach is on a high level and shouldn’t be a concern.
Restaurants and Night Life
The beach has very beautiful promenade. It is particularly nice spot for a walk in the evening when there is no the heat and the light breeze is coming from the Indian Ocean.
There are different restaurants there with various traditional and seafood. The Village is well-known restaurant that international tourist prefer to stay and eat. Even the chief of the village is a foreigner, that’s why the food is so exotic and delicious!
The Indian Ocean coastline features some of the most impressive beaches in the world. With pure sand, temperate waters and abundant wildlife, Mogadishu’s beachfront could be developed into a most-wanted tourist destination.
A dry, hot climate is typical in this eastern African city. Rainy days come rarely to Mogadishu, and the wettest weather occurs from May through August, which makes Jazeera beach a perfect summer destination all year round.
