International Travel Expo June 14-16, Hong Kong.
It was great pleasure to participate International Travel Expo (ITE) in Hong Kong. Our journey to this travel expo has been organizing long time as ITE Hong Kong sent us official invitation letter that facilitates our coming to Hong Kong.
It’s not first time to be invited and participate Visit Mogadishu by international event, but it was the first tourism exhibition we have booth branded our logo. There have been hundreds of travel agencies worldwide, mostly from Hong Kong, China, Thailand, Taiwan, Russia, India. Every travel agency was displaying and marketing its tour packages. Somalia is among top unique destinations been there available. We have been listed on exhibitors section.
About Somalia Tourism
Somalia locates The Horn of Africa with the longest coastal line in Africa, it has potential tourism resource that could be key development once peace and security is progressed. The country once used to be world’ top tourism destination and receive high number of white travelers that mostly interested in the average weather, beaches, mountain ranges, waterfalls, rivers, landmarks, wildlife, nomads, farms, domestic animals, many historic and cultural attractions. Peace era, there has been many well know places that move tourism; Jubba hotel, Urubu Hotel, Wildlife Park etc.
ITE Hong Kong, Business to Business
Once reached there, we had booth branded with our logo, the first two days were business to business days. We had many discussion and explanation about the rebirth of Somalia tourism with Hong Kong/China travel agencies that are more interested in outbound.
Mostly they asked how progressed the city after decades of violence and we explained the big progress done by the current government, as we receive many white travelers our
clients rated five star on www.tripadvisor.com/25362374 that result the service we provided.
Business to Clients Day
On third and fourth days were over 100 thousand travelers come the exhibition, they were visiting every booth and ask what type of tour package they have, unique destinations, safety etc.
Hundreds of adventure travelers crowded our booth, We distributed hundreds of business cards, pamphlet written in English and Chinese, also we had China speaking translator who explained many Chinese travelers to our product with their mother language.
On the fourth day, we had presentation about Somalia Destinations, I went to the panel and Alfred Lam (our partner in Hong Kong) explained a lot, then I replied some questions asked by the participates; it included;
–Visa issuance; we provide invitation letter, then visa is available on arrival
-Flight availability; yes, there are many international flights, Turkish, Ethiopian, Kenya airways, Qatar airways, Jubba airways, Air Djibouti, Africa Express, Daallo airlines etc.
-Safety; once everything is organised, then you don’t need to worry about safety.
Travelers fall into different categories; leisure, explore, adventure, business, most travelers going to Somalia are Adventure and Business travelers,
